NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms College junior women’s basketball player Denisha Parks (Fall River, Mass.) and senior men’s volleyball player Bryson Rainey (Brookline, Mass.) were each named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week in their respective sports as announced by the league office on Monday.
Parks earned her sixth player of the week accolade after helping Elms to a 2-0 week netting 25.0 points per game and 11.5 rebounds per contest. She netted 31 points in a 77-74 win over Bay Path College and added 14 boards against the Wildcats. She connected on 42.9-percent of her shots from the field and added a total of four assists and three steals during the two-game stretch.
Rainey hit .431 during the Blazers' 2-0 week which featured NECC sweeps of Lesley University and Newbury College. Rainey totaled 35 kills on 65 swings with just seven mishits averaging 5.83 kills per set. He also totaled 15 digs during the week with 13 of those coming against the Nighthawks.
