PROVIDENCE, RI, Oct. 17, 2008 - Elms College sophomore
Andrew Sullivan (West Springfield, MA) and junior
Ben Kwiatkowski (Chicopee, MA) both posted rounds
of sub-80 to help the men's golf team earn a fifth place finish in
the Rhode Island College Invitational at Triggs Memorial Golf
Course on Friday afternoon.
Elms College tallied a team score of 337 en route to its fifth place finish in the seven-team field. Nichols won with a score of 305, while Rhode Island College (313), Brandeis (320), Johnson & Wales (320), Suffolk (367) and Newbury (376) rounded out the field.
Sullivan, who was one of two players in the field to record an eagle in his round while leading the field in par-4 scoring on the day (4.00), carded a solid round of 5-over par 77 (36-41) to finish in a tie for sixth in the 35-player field.
Kwiatkowski, meanwhile, picked up 11 pars and tied for 12th with a 7-over 79 (39-40).
Junior Mike Menard (Westfield, MA) also had a
solid day for the Blazers, as he tied for 19th with a
round of 85 (40-45).
Friday's match at Rhode Island College concluded the 2008 fall season for Elms College.
