CHICOPEE, MA, Sept. 16, 2008 - Elms College senior forward Brian Murca (Chicopee, MA) and freshman midfielder Alex Rosario (Chicopee, MA) each netted a pair of goals and the Blazers had six different players score en route to an 8-2 win over Regis College in Tuesday's non-conference men's soccer game at Weston.

Elms College's eight-goal outburst tied the program-record, which was set in the team's 8-0 shutout over Newbury in 2001.

The win improved the Blazers to 3-2, while Regis, competing in its first intercollegiate season, fell to 0-5.

Sophomore midfielder Sam Senecal (Chicopee, MA) got the Blazers off and running with his first collegiate goal in the 16th minute.

From there, Murca struck for both his goals in the 27th and 30th minutes to extend the Blazers' lead to 3-0.

The Blazers, who led 3-1 at intermission, received single tallies in the second half from junior midfielder Damien Robinson (Chicopee, MA), sophomore midfielder Justin Pearson (Torrington, CT) and sophomore forward Nick Espinola (Derry, NH), as well as both goals by Rosario.

Senecal had a banner day for the Blazers, as he also finished with three assists in the victory.

Freshman goalkeeper Ryan Sullivan (Agawam, MA) turned away nine shots to post his third win of the year.

The Blazers outshot the host Pride 38-16.

Elms College returns to non-conference play when it hosts Albertus Magnus on Thursday, September 18. Game time is 7:00 p.m. at Leary Field.
