Elms Adds Froehlich as Head Coach of Men's and Women's Volleyball

CHICOPEE, Mass. - Elms College Interim Athletic Director Rob Southall announced this week that Mike Froehlich will be the College's new Head Coach for Men's and Women's Volleyball.

"We are excited to have Mike join the Blazer Family, his background of success coaching both women and men volleyball programs makes him the ideal leader" said Southall. "We here at Elms are looking forward to watching the growth of both programs under Mike's leadership".

Most recently, Mike started a new Men's Club Volleyball Program at the University of Indianapolis. As a start up, the team grew to 17 student-athletes. Prior to the University of Indianapolis, Mike was the assistant volleyball coach at Indiana University-Purdue University of Indianapolis (IUPUI), which is a Division I member of the Horizon League. During his time at IUPUI, he was involved with implementing offensive strategies, scouting and match preparation, recruiting, team travel and budget, as well as training of multiple position groups.  

Mike's experience includes four years as a recruiting coordinator at the club level, as well as four seasons of Division I, one season of Division II and seven seasons of NAIA (Men's and Women's) assistant coaching.

Mike's introduction to coaching was at Lourdes University, where he helped start both the Men's and Women's Volleyball programs as an Assistant Coach.  There, he assisted both teams to National Tournament appearances in the 2013-2014 school year.
