Drew 14, Elms 8
The Blazers had their best hitting performance of the year, breaking out with 10 hits and 8 runs.
It was a back-and-forth game early on and right up to the end. Elms took the lead in the top of the 4th putting up a 5 spot. Tea Sullivan (Dracut, MA.), Emily Dorosh, (Litchfield, CT) and Madison Messier (Warren, MA.) all had hits in the frame to give the Blazers a 7-4 lead. The Rangers would come right back with a big inning of their own with 6 runs in the bottom of the frame which proved to be to be enough to secure the 14-8 win.
Penn St. – Altoona 6, Elms 5
Penn St. - Altoona got out to a fast start platting 4 runs in the top of the 1st. Elms would hang tough and have a chance to take the lead in the bottom of the 5th.
Elms closed the gap with 4 runs in bottom of the 5th. Yyla Risucci (Watertown, CT) hit a two RBI single that brought two runs in before Raeanna Tumel (Stafford, CT) delivered a run-scoring groundout and Ryanne Fournier (Longmeadow, MA.) hit a sac fly to cut Penn State Altoona's lead to 6-5. That would be as close as the Blazers would get in the loss.
