Women's Lacrosse Tabbed to Finish Third in 2014 NECC Preseason Poll

NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. - The Elms College women's lacrosse team was slated to finish third in the 2014 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Preseason Poll as announced by the league office on Thursday.

Elms, under the direction of second-year head coach Maureen Ruane, will look to build on its NECC Championship tournament semifinal appearance in 2013. The Blazers return their two top-scorers from a season ago including 2013 First Team All-NECC selection Lauren Mazza (Agawam, Mass.) who scored 43 goals, and Nora McDonough (South Hadley, Mass.) who notched 40 markers. The team also returns Brianna Lyons (Canton, Mass.) who picked up a team-high 55 groundballs last season.
