Softball Places Sixth in 2026 GNAC Preseason Poll

WINTHROP, Mass. - Following a vote amongst the league's head coaches, the Elms College Baseball team has been selected to finish sixth in the South Division in the 2026 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Softball Preseason Poll, as announced on Friday afternoon.

Elms is entering their fifth season with the GNAC, when asked about competing and the outlook for the upcoming season Coach Bre Marcyoniak stated that "we are excited for a season that will showcase our journey as a program. As a young team, this group is very connected. They compete for each other, and are committed to the little things. We're building from the ground up and that foundation will carry us".

The Blazers finished their season with an overall record of 6-32, with a 1-17 conference record. After missing the GNAC Tournament last year, the Elms Softball team is ready to build upon their hard work during the offseason.

Elms will begin the season competing in the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic in Naples and Fort Myers, Fla. against Bethany College (W.V.), Pittsburgh-Bradford, SUNY Cobleskill, Drew University, Rockford University, Crown (Minn.)., Alfred State, and University of Saint Joseph, Conn. from Sunday, March 8th through Thursday, March 12th. The Blazers will return to Cheryl R. Condon Field to start a 18-game homestand, hosting Anna Maria College for their home opener on Thursday, March 19th at 2 and 4 pm and their conference opener on Saturday, March 21st against Emmanuel College at 2 and 4 pm. Elms will compete in their first road game on Wednesday, April 8th at the University of Saint Joseph, Conn. at 3 and 5 pm. They will also be hosting their annual Strikeout Cancer Game in their final home stand on Saturday, April 25th against Colby-Sawyer College at 12 and 2 pm.

The 2026 GNAC Tournament will begin on Wednesday, April 29th for the first of three days of Pod Play of the tournament leading up to the Championship which will be held on Friday, May 8th through Saturday, May 9th in which the winning team will have a chance to qualify into the 2026 NCAA Division III Softball Tournament.
