Softball Hosts South Hadley Youth Softball Players in Joint Practice
CHICOPEE, Mass. - The Elms College Softball team hosted a 1st/2nd Grade youth softball team from South Hadley Youth Baseball/Softball for a special joint practice at Cheryl R. Condon Field on Wednesday afternoon, giving young players the chance to take the field as the "Little Blazers" for the day.
Led by Head Coach Bre Marcyoniak and the Blazer student-athletes, the session included interactive drills, games, and fundamental skill work, and wrapped up with a fun, competitive scrimmage between the two teams.
The youth team is coached by Karalee Yvon, an Elms alumna and the College's Director of Institutional Assessment and Research, and supported by assistant coaches, including Teresa Winters-Tobin, also an Elms alumna and the College's Dean of Students.
The afternoon highlighted the strong connection between Elms Athletics and the local community, creating a memorable experience centered on mentorship, teamwork, and a shared love of the game.
