Field Hockey Selected Ninth in GNAC Preseason Poll
WINTHROP, MA – Following a vote amongst the league's head coaches, the Elms College field hockey team has been selected to finish ninth in the 2021 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) field hockey Preseason Poll, as announced on Monday afternoon.
Elms is the GNAC's newest incoming full core member. When asked about competing in the GNAC and the upcoming season, first year head coach Rachel Lapar responded "Being a part of and playing in the GNAC this year is extra motivation for us to compete at a higher level.
Lapar went on to say "There is great, strong DIII competition which is an honor to be a part of. Ultimately our goal is to show up and be a presence. I am confident with our team and culture we can do that. Our process through preseason will prepare us for these tests. We are ready."
The 2021 GNAC Tournament is set to begin with the quarterfinal round on Saturday, October 30, followed by the semifinals on Wednesday, November 3, and the title contest on Saturday, Nov. 6.
