Men's Soccer Loses to a Tough Framingham State Side in Non-Conference Play

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. - The Elms College Men's Soccer team traveled to Framingham State University for a non-conference game on Tuesday afternoon.

BASICS
Score: Elms College 1 | Framingham State University 4
Records: Blazers 4-2-1, 0-0-1 (GNAC) | Rams 3-3-0, 0-2-0 (MASCAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Blazers found themselves quickly behind, as the Rams scored in the opening minutes to go up 1-0. Elms tried to get back into the game, as senior forward Jacobo Molina Ferrer (Valencia, Spain), freshman midfielder/defender Casimir Pierre, Jr. (Carfoure, Haiti) and junior midfielder Andrew Velasquez (Ellington, Conn.)  put some shots on net, but the Rams didn't let the Blazers get on the board. Elms struggled defensively in the latter part of the first half, and gave up a second goal right before halftime, and were down 2-0 at the break.

Framingham would score yet another goal after halftime to go up 3-0, but this time Elms responded shortly after with a goal by senior midfielder Pajorn Drysdale (Nantucket, Mass.) to cut into the lead. However, Elms continued to struggle defensively, even with sophomore goalkeeper Jack Bousquet (Clinton, Conn.) making three saves of the seven shots he faced, the Blazers could not muster enough opportunities offensively, and gave up their fourth goal of the game late in the half to the Rams, which led to a tough 4-1 loss for the Blazers.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Molina Ferrer and N.Velasquez would both take three shots.

  • Bousquet would make three saves of the seven shots he faced.
