Osella and Bousquet Earn GNAC Weekly Awards in Baseball and Men's Volleyball

WINTHROP, Mass. - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) announced their weekly award selections for the week ending on March 8th Monday afternoon.

Four Blazers would earn conference weekly accolades this week for their accomplishments on the field and court.

First year outfielder Anthony Osella (Manchester, Conn.) would be named GNAC Baseball Rookie of the Week after going 3-7 with an run batted-in, two stolen bases, and five walks for the Blazers on a .429 batting average, a .692 on base percentage, and a .571 slugging percentage.

First year Chris Bousquet (Springfield, Mass.) would be named GNAC Men's Volleyball Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week after anchored the back row in three matches, totaling 32 digs (2.91 per set) while handling 70 receptions at a .929 clip. He recorded 17 digs in a win over Wheaton before collecting seven against Hunter and eight against No. 1 nationally-ranked Springfield College. Bousquet leads the nation in digs per set and total digs with 3.99 per set and 279 total.

Senior Rafa Areto (Madrid, Spain) and junior Nick Uschmann (Agawam, Mass.) would all be named to the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll in Men's Volleyball.
