Women's Soccer Loses a Tough 1-0 Battle to St. Joseph's of Maine
CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Elms College Women's Soccer team hosted Saint Joseph's College, Maine for a conference matchup on Saturday afternoon at Leary Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half would see Saint Joseph's take a shot in the opening minute and it would be saved by graduate student Hailey Magierowski (Brimfield, Mass.). Elms would quickly respond with two shots from junior forward Jamie McDonough (Dedham, Mass.) and graduate student Hannah Kolodziey (East Longmeadow, Mass.), followed by four additional shots from sophomore forward/midfielder Emily Basua (Oxnard, Cali.), senior forward Kelly Malheiro (Centereach, N.Y.), and first-year midfielder Jenna McGuire (Shelton, Conn.). The Blazers would out shoot the Monks 6-2 in the opening half, but the score would remain 0-0 at halftime.
Senior Caroline Wilcox (Pomfret Center, Conn.) would record the first shot of the second half. Basua and McDonough would both follow with shots of their own, but both would be unsuccessful. Sophomore Kaylee Little (Brighton, Mass.) would take a shot, but it would go above the crossbar. Then in the 78th minute, St. Joseph's score the opening goal to take the lead 1-0. As the clock continued to wind down, the Elms offense would try to tie the game, but all attempts would be unsuccessful once again, as the Monks would defeat the Blazers 1-0.
