Men's Basketball Lose on the Road at Sage
ALBANY, N.Y. - The Elms College Men's Basketball team faced Russell Sage College in a non-conference game on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half started with both teams missing opportunities to go ahead on the score board. Elms would score their first points with senior forward Adam Sarlan (Chicopee, Mass.) converting both of his free throws after a shooting foul. The next point would come a minute after with first year forward/center Rayquan Anderson (Waterbury, Conn.) converting one of his free throws. With Sage still in the lead, senior forward/guard Aden Goffe (New Haven, Conn.) got his first points of the night on a jump shot, followed by one successful free throw, making the game 12-6 Gators. First year guard Jamie Lawson (Charlotte, N.C.) after coming from the bench got his first points on an unassisted layup. Junior guard DJ Watkins (Union, N.J.) then would also get his name in the scorebook with a layup, assisted by Sarlan. Lawson would record another free throw and an assist to Sarlan's layup to make the Blazers cut the deficit 13-points, 26-13. After a defensive rebound Watkins scored an unassisted layup, followed by another layup assisted this time by Sarlan. After a turnover by Sage, first year forward Jaedon Bogar (Aubrey, Texas) would then score his first basket of the night, followed by one more layup this time assisted by Lawson. With two minutes left on the clock, Goffe went on a run scoring two unassisted layups and the first three-point shot of the night for the Blazers to finish the first half, but the Gators would hold on to their 33-28 lead.
In the second half, Elms would put their first points on the scoreboard the same way they finished the first half, with Goffe scoring another unassisted layup. Watkins then scored his first jump shot of the night, followed by senior forward/guard RJ Mayfield (Springfield, Mass.) with a basket and a foul, converting his three-point play. Junior guard Travis Jordan (Springfield, Mass.) would then score three-points with a layup, assisted by Watkins, and a free throw converted after getting fouled. After obtaining a defensive rebound Anderson would go to assist Goffe in another layup and senior center/guard/forward Edgardo Jacob Cancel (Northampton, Mass.) after getting an offensive rebound would then score his first layup of the night. Bringing the game to 61-44 with Sage in the lead. Goffe, Lawson, Watkins and Sarlan would each get a layup to bring the game to 68-52. Watkins then would score a layup after Bogar's steal and Goffe would go to score another layup, assisted by sophomore forward/guard Daniel Villanueva (Seymour, Conn.), and a jump shot. After coming from the bench senior guard/forward Max Rolnick (Vaughan, Ontario) would get his first couple of points of the night with two three-point shots and a layup. The game would then end with Villanueva, Watkins, and sophomore forward Aiden Dunlap (Chestertown, Md.) each scoring a layup. Unfortunately, the Blazers would lose the contest to the Gators 84-72.
