Early Season Woes Continue for Women's Lacrosse
NEW LONDON, N.H. - The Elms College Women's Lacrosse team traveled to Colby-Sawyer College for a conference game on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the first quarter, the Colby-Sawyer offense would take control of the conference matchup early, with 18 shots in the quarter. Junior goalkeeper Marisa LaRocque (Agawam, Mass.) would make three saves, and senior midfielder Jackie Cronin (Smithtown, N.Y.) would earn a draw control, but the Chargers would score 11 goals in the quarter against the Blazers. In the second quarter, Colby-Sawyer would take nine shots on LaRocque, where she would make five saves, but the Chargers would go into the break scoring three more goals, to head into halftime break with a 14-0 lead over Elms.
In the third quarter, the Colby-Sawyer offense would continue to maintain control, scoring two early goals, but the Blazers would continue to keep their efforts high, when junior midfielder Rachel Dort (Chicopee, Mass.) would collect a draw control that would lead to the first shot for Elms by first year midfielder Zellia Fanfa (Brunswick, N.Y.). Unfortunately, the Chargers would score a goal in the closing minutes of the quarter to increase their lead to 17-0. In the fourth quarter, Elms would see first year attacker Chloe Sullivan (Hampden, Mass.) take a shot, followed by Cronin recording a draw control, which would lead to a free position goal from Dort to score the first goal for the Blazers. In the closing minutes of the contest, Cronin would add a draw control, but Colby-Sawyer would score two goals during the quarter to defeat Elms 19-1.
