HOW IT HAPPENED
The game was even early, as both Elms and Lasell put pressure on each other's goalkeepers. Senior midfielder Daniella Niemiec (Chicopee, Mass.) and senior forward Jamie McDonough (Dedham, Mass.) would fire early shots on net in an effort to get Elms on the board, but Lasell held strong in net. First year goalkeeper Breanna White (Lafayette, La.) would record some key saves to keep Lasell from scoring, and Elms went into the half tied with the Lasers 0-0.
Lasell would strike quickly in the second half, as Elms found themselves down after a defensive lapse. Junior forward Kaylee Little (Boston, Mass.) and McDonough would take it upon themselves and each recorded a shot on goal to try and get the Blazers back in the game, but were not successful. This attention to the offensive end for Elms resulted in a collapse defensively, as Elms would give up three unanswered goals to the Lasers. Down four goals, White would record a couple of late goals to give the Blazers a fighting chance, but Elms wouldn't be able to record any goals. Their late collapse resulted in their second crushing loss, this time a tough 4-0 defeat.
